Overview

Timed to coincide with Fired Up, Festival of ceramics, a Wellington-wide visual-arts festival with a focus on ceramics.
Combining a variety of hand building, glazing and firing techniques, Jaime Jenkins creates works that emphasise both practicality and whimsy, placing importance on pushing the limits of clay through construction and colour. Over summer, Jaime took part in a residency at Driving Creek Potteries in Coromandel Town and has included these pieces in the exhibition, along with new work inspired from the residency.
Jenkins’ holds an Advanced Diploma of Visual Art and has completed internships with artists in New Zealand and London. Recent exhibitions include Dirty Ceramics, Dowse Art Museum, Lower Hutt; on the verge of Blue, Space Gallery, Napier.
