Starting out as an artist isn’t easy, yet every year a new generation of art students graduate, determined to forge their path and embrace the varied and often unexpected lifestyle that’s in front of them.
Fresh 2019 is a collection of work carefully hand-picked from graduate exhibitions across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Both of us began our gallery careers at 30upstairs, a not-for-profit space that offered exhibitions and residency opportunities for young and emerging artists, and we’re passionate about continuing to support artists in the early stages of their career.

This exhibition, by 10 graduates, features only a very small selection of the works that impressed us. There were many more we would have liked to include in the show if space allowed. We wish them all well and it is a pleasure to be able to present this selection to you.
